An infographic by Federal Student Aid answers the question “Why go to College?” by providing the average income earned by different educational levels and comparing it to their respective unemployment rate. Looking at the inforgraphic, we see that those with less than a high school degree had a mean income of $29,848 in 2011 and an unemployment rate of 14.1 percent. Those with a Bachelor’s degree had a mean income of $71,552 and an unemployment rate of 4.9 percent.
