In our podcast, we interview policymakers, partners, and thought leaders to spotlight education policies, research, and practices so that together we can create a brighter future for every Washington student.

In this episode, League of Education Voters Communications Director Arik Korman asks Dr. Tequilla Brownie, Executive Vice President of Strategy, Policy & Community Coalitions at TNTP, about their groundbreaking report titled The Opportunity Myth, how she recommends that teachers and schools connect with students during this time of COVID, and what she would change about our education system if there were no budgetary constraints.

TNTP currently works with South Shore PreK-8 in South Seattle, a close partner of League of Education Voters.

One comment on “Podcast – Tequilla Brownie of TNTP on The Opportunity Myth

  1. Hi,
I read all the messages I get from TNTP, especially those that talk about how to improve student learning, methodologies, curriculum and teacher training.
When I watched Dr. Tequilla Brownie’s video I was moved, because her story is very similar to mine, but in another context (Brazil) and culture, with similar dreams.
In my work as a teacher, I relentlessly seek to prove poor children are as skilled as those from more affluent classes, and education is the most promising path.
I really want to take a course at TNTP, but financially it hasn’t been possible. Congratulations Dr Tequilla, may her work in education continue to inspire us. Marlene D’Aroz
