ED Advocate, League of Education Voters Newsletter, November 2014

Greetings

Chris Korsmo
Chris Korsmo, CEO

The results from Tuesday's elections are still being tallied, but in the meantime, I'd like to congratulate Seattle Mayor Ed Murray, Councilmember Tim Burgess, and everyone who worked on the Quality Seattle Preschool Campaign for Proposition 1B's success. Most importantly, I would like to celebrate the fact that 3- and 4-year-olds throughout Seattle will now have the opportunity to attend high-quality, gap-closing preschool.

Stay tuned for full coverage on our blog of all election results from our Government Relations Director Frank Ordway. In the meantime, please join us on November 20 for our last webinar in the series, A fully funded public education system, when the League of Education Voters team will share with you our vision of what a fully funded public education system could look like.

While many of us have been absorbed in local and national elections, Adel Sefrioui has been hard at work planning for the opening of Excel Public Charter School in Kent next year. I am pleased to announce that Adel is our Activist of the Month for November.

Thanks for all you do for kids. We couldn't do it without you.
