ED Advocate, League of Education Voters Newsletter, May 2014

Greetings

Chris Korsmo
Chris Korsmo, CEO

This month starts out with a bang with two exciting events: The Seattle Foundation's GiveBIG online event May 6 (tomorrow!), and the Washington State Charter Schools Association's first annual conference, A World of Opportunities, on May 8–9. Read more below to learn about each of these events.

This month, I am pleased to highlight the work of Carol Solomon, who has been working to transform school discipline in Seattle and throughout the state.

Stay tuned for more information on the implementation of Washington's new College and Career Ready Diploma. As the State Board of Education drafts and finalizes rules, we'll tell you how to weigh in.

Thanks for all you do for kids. We couldn't do it without you.
