ED Advocate, League of Education Voters Newsletter, December 2014

Greetings

Chris Korsmo
Chris Korsmo, CEO

Welcome to December! I hope you enjoyed a Thanksgiving full of family, friends, laughter, food, and of course, football. It's hard to believe that 2014 is almost over. This year, we made good progress on some important policy issues, including passing the College and Career Ready High School Diploma and a new voter-approved Seattle Preschool Program.

But as we all know, time does not stand still. My colleagues and I are looking ahead to the 2015 legislative session. Government Relations Director Frank Ordway recently wrote a blog post about the 2014 elections and highlighted the importance of bipartisanship in the upcoming legislative session. You can also hear from him on January 8, 2015, for a preview of the legislative session through our Lunchtime LEVinar series. Read below for more information.

Today is #GivingTuesday, which follows the eating (and footballing) on Thanksgiving, the hordes of shoppers on Black Friday, and the gobs of online sales during Cyber Monday. If you are thinking of participating in #GivingTuesday, I ask that you consider supporting the League of Education Voters in your year-end giving so that we can continue our work to ensure that all Washington kids have access to an excellent public education.

Thanks for all you do for kids. We couldn't do it without you.
